Lotus Surf & Wellness is a small, family-run surf and wellness home in Ahangama, Sri Lanka. We only collect the information we need to look after you, and we never sell it. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

What we collect

  • Booking details. When you book a Surf Camp, Wellness Week, room, yoga class or Soul Spa treatment, we collect your name, email, phone number, travel dates, and anything you choose to tell us, such as surf experience, dietary needs or health notes for treatments.

  • Email sign-ups. If you join the Lotus family through our pop-up, we keep your email address so we can send your welcome code and the odd note from Mum and me.

  • Messages. If you contact us by email, WhatsApp or Instagram, we keep that conversation so we can help you.

  • Website data. Like most websites, ours uses cookies and basic analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from.

How we use it

We use your information to take and manage your booking, prepare for your stay, answer your questions, send the emails you signed up for, and improve our website. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Who helps us

We use a few trusted services to run Lotus, and they handle data on our behalf: Squarespace (our website), Bookinglayer (our booking system at book.lotussurfandwellness.com, including payments through its payment providers), Klaviyo (our email list), and Google Maps and Instagram content shown on our pages. Each has its own privacy policy.

Emails from us

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by asking us. We will stop straight away.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for your stay and for our accounting and legal obligations. Email sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Just email book@lotussurfandwellness.com and we will reply as soon as we can. We aim to follow Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, and for guests from the UK and EU, the GDPR.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page.
